I've installed a the blitz style front on my car for a while now and just wanted to ask if anyone who also installed them also took off the impact bumper(the black plastic one that is behind the urethan bumper that takes the impact in a serious accident). I know i've taken it off when i install the blitz style front in my car almost two years ago and it has raise some serious concerns with me when i'm weaving through traffic (i dunno why now and not two years ago, don't ask). i just wanted to ask if it was neccessary for me to take if off because i think it doesn't fit under the blitz bumper, OR DOES IT? is there a way of doing this without sacraficing the bumper? Or if it wouldn't work, is there any other after market style out there that i can put on the front without remove the impact bumper, because i seriously do not want to get into an accident and get seriouly injured because i didn't know what i was doing. I don't want to modified the impact bumper in any way because i think that would cause the bumper to loss it's strutural integrity. My car is gonna go through a major exterior overhaul because i pretty much cracked the hell out of my bodykit eversince i've lowered my car and you guy's suggestions would help a freaking LOT! thanks in advance.

Yeah I had to take mine off to but that bar from what i understand is not for serious accidents but for minor ones. A little fender bender may cause more damage without it but a big accident it wouldnt matter to much. There are ways to modify it to get it to work but I didnt even worry about it.

If I undertsand you correctly, you're talking about the 15mph impact bar. That had to come out for my Blitz to fit right, along with some other shit. All that bar does is keep you from totaling your car under 15mph, past that it doesn't do a damn thing. I wouldn't really worry about, chances are if you're weaving in and out of traffic then you're going over 15mph. Just be safe and watch out for yourself and other drivers.

i know i shouldn't ask but, say i crashed my car would the insurance investigate this? thanks

They might get suspicious because its an aftermarket bumper - but I'm not really sure.

easy, get in a wreck, take off your bumper, carry it in your car, redo the crash bar and beat the shit out of it, hehehe, they'll never know

by the way, the thought about that too, but didn't want to pay a deductable.

I got a special blitz or something - it just fits...haha. Don't know how to explain it, but its one of the few blitz front ends that can fit with it on.
