Hee hee thats right, no more SRS light for me. I am scanning pics now and will tell you how. And no, this dindt involved any sort of taping over the SRS light. :thumbsup

I know quite a few of us have had the SRS light problem after we have taken out the airbags to paint. Now I dont know if you people want something that will cure the cause(what makes ur SRS go off) or the effect(the srs light, lighting up). Me personallyu I am just trying to solve the effect. Cause i am 99.9% sure my airbags are fine, i just prolly tripped some sensor or something that need to be reset. So rather than paying a dealer 100 dollars just to reset the SRS, i took 10 min of my time and stopped the problem.

Anyway, i will have the pics on how to do it up soon. real simple.

Ok here is is. SIMPLE. Take out you gauge cluster and take out the 2 bulbs that light it. I dont know why I didnt notice the multitude of bulbs behind there, before then. Anyway, there ya go. Take out the bulbs, and you solve the EFFECT. If you wanna solve the CAUSE, go to a dealer and waste 100 dollars. Props to me. :)

then why didnt someone ever tell me?! ive had that damn SRS blinding me for months. Whenever someone posted on the SRS noone ever said to take the bulbs out. Oh well,

did you guys even call the dealer to see how much it was to reset the light, Ive been told its only like 25 bucks to hook up the drb3 tool and do whatever

Yeah I have no airbags. I yanked them lights when I put the indiglo gauges on.

I think the dealership charged me like 90 bucks or something. But I wanted it off, so I paid it.

Oh and nappy, the bulb trick has been done. I used to tell people that one way to get rid of a CEL. That's what I did.

well i didnt claim to be an eistein. But myself and MANY other have asked how to get the SRS light off...how come none of you ever came forward and told us that there were bulbs in the back?! Hmmmm.

Anyway, i doubt the just because the light is on, the airbags wont go off. The light only warns you if something WITH your airbags, but it in no way disable them itself.

if there is a light that is on in your dash, of course there would be a bulb behind it. props to the common sense. the problem with this little ghetto mod is when someone goes to get a smog check. yeah you dont want any of the funky lights to turn on and show codes when your car is running right? but when they stick the key in and put it in the on position (without actually cranking the ignition), they check to make sure that those nifty little orange lights turn on before start up. if the light does not come on during this little proccess, they know that either A. your bulb is burnt out or B. you took the pos out. so they tell you nicely to go replace the burnt out bulb and bring it back with a working light so you can pass the test. so you put the bulb back in and look at that it still lights up all the time and look at that your back to square one. unless of course you live in one of those crazy ass states that dont have emissions or require people to have auto insurance. good times. :-)

well i live in illinois and when i do emission, i keep my car running and they just drive it into the thing, hit the gas, and im dont. they dont turn it on and off. :thumbsup

edit: and of course i know there was a light that lit up the SRS symbol. Do you think im a fuckin idiot? I just didnt think the lights were so easily accesible thru the back of the cluster. I thought maybe i had to take apart the cluster.
