3294, My wheels are wobbling!! Posted by GheTToRS, Apr-20-01 01:18 PM
My boyfriend decided he wanted to put just two of his 17" inch rims on the back of my car with my stock ones still in the front. So anyways i made him take them off this morning because it looked ghetto not being lowered. He put my original rims back on but being the dumb ass that he did..only could fit three lug nuts on one of the back tires because he broke one of the studs when trying to take a lug nut off and the other one was all rusted. So i was driving today with only 3 lug nuts on one tire and two people pulled up to me saying my wheel was going to fall off. So i took it to the dealer and they "fixed" it. Or so they say. Now when i drive both of my back wheels are wobbling still but they both have the 5 lug nuts. What could be wrong with them this time? I think my brakes are kinda bad but the noises my tires make dont seem to be coming from me braking...any suggestions would be greatly appreciated....

Might have bent the rims or something when you only had a few lugs on. You made sure they fixed it and tightened them up all the way etc?

Ya first jack up the car, then tighten the lug nuts. Or the best thing to do is loosen all of them, make sure the wheel is sitting tight flat, and then retighten.

your wheels will also wobble a bit if you have bad wheel bearings.
