What is that material under some people's hoods. I want to get rid of my ugly heat crap under my hood. Where did you guys get that stuff? And how much was it?

They actually come from the turbo versions. Order from Mitsu or Chrysler under the same parts #:
MB913318 (around $34-$55)
Just called and Mitsu wants about $50 and Chrysler wants $34.....and don't forget the clips! (MB 020923)

if you were talking about chrome in the recessed hood areas, just get the chrome vinyl from a vinyl or tint shop and cut it. its about $8 for 20" here. i yanked out my stock heat shield, no problems so far.
