32696, Windsheild scratches!
Posted by guest, Oct-15-02 12:56 PM
Ok, I took off my url sticker across the bottom of my windsheild, and I swear to God I never thought it be possible...but I scratched my glass with the razor! wtf? I thought you couldnt do that, and it was impossible, nothing short of a glass cutter.

Can these be buffed out like scratches on paint? I'm assuming NO, and I wonder if anyone has an suggestions to fix this besides replacing the windsheild or slapping another sticker over it, lol.

Not one damn crack, scratch or speck of anything in the 5 yrs this car has been rolling off the factory line.... fgt car.

I always heard that using a razor on your winshield (especially the outside surface) was a bad idea.....but oh well it's already done.

There's a product(I think) that I saw over at Autozone or some other part store that you can use to take out minor glass scratches. It involves some sort of putty or polish that you apply to the scratch after isolating it with a cutout piece of paper or cardboard. Let it dry, wipe it off....done. I think I saw an infomercial for it once too.

Hopefully this works...cause I could use it as well.

If you hav'nt driven it much since you scratched it, Go to walmart and buy a repair kit for cracks. It works good, but the scratch will need to be clean or the scratch will turn black. Try spraying a little brake cleaner in a small section and apply the repair kit to see how it turns out before doing all of it.
