Hey Guys, What's the name of the hard metal trim (covered in black rubber) that goes along the top of the doors on our cars? I've heard people complaining that their's are peeling and rusting..like mine. I need to call the dealer and buy a new set but I don't know what they're called. also, any idea on what I should expect to pay?
Thanks a lot guys,
Markus

I think it's something moulding...I'm not sure. I've heard they're really expensive and a BITCH to put on. I've been wanting to replcae mine too. So I'm curious as to what you find out when you call Satan.

I don't know about ours but I was fixing up an older Civic (90) for a friend and the dealer wanted $200 a side for those freakin things!

That sucks. I hate it when I wash my car, the rest of it looks so clean and shiny and then the mouldings look like SHIT. I bought some stuff to make it look better Meguair's Trim something. It looks good for about a day.

Hi guys,
I just purchased all new mouldings...for both the driver's side and passenger side windows as well as the mouldings around my windshield and the bottom plastic grill at the bottom of the windshield. I had a friend who worked for a Mitsu dealership buy the parts for me so I had a dealer discount, but here's what you would be looking at (approx):
Trim (top of windows, hard plastic) - $35.00 per side Trim (bottom of windows, softer rubber) - $64.00 per side Trim (top of windows, rubber) $72.00 per side
So about $350 or so if you wanted to do both windows in total
FYI - Windshield moulding (the rubber around that top) and the plastic grilled piece on the bottom of the windshield were about $50 each.
Those are their list prices.
