Matt-
I really like your interior. I was going to do the same because I have black interior and was going to go with the silver/gray accents. I was just a bit worried how it would look on a red car. Now that I see it though I really like it. Do you have any more pics of it?? Oh, and what paint did you use??

lol how it would look in a red car. All you can see is the inside. Every inside looks the same. :thumbsup

I suppose I mean most people paint the interior to match the color of thier car.... I realize all interiors look the same :)
I just haven't seen anyone with a red exterior not have red interior accents. I was just happy to see it done......

The seats look much darker in person, the flash on the camera made them lighter for soem reason. I used a silver vinyl paint on the door vinly, and normal silver spray paint on all other pieces. I used duplicolor fabric dye on the seats, and plasticote on all the grey plastic panels to make them black. Its held up pretty good, some areas need to be touched up again.. These pics are a little old, before i had my turbo, so you cant see the tripple gauge pod on the pillar. The 3 gauges have black dials, white numbers, and silver trim bezels, which match the stock gauges perfectly, and the silver scheme too.

All I gotta say is DAMN, some of your guys interiors are sweet as hell. Mine is okay, but where I lay my arm on the door when im driving is all peeling off, cuz of humidty and stickyness from my arm. I think I am going to redo it all sometime. I need some advice on what kind of paint to use, last time i used duplicolor vinyl spray on everything. I think Ima just use regular spray paint, but i dono. Give me some ideas guys.

so did all of you guys use SEM or plasticote?? Because I used krylon like a few of the guys here told me and it was good at first, but now it is chipping in places and not lasting like I need it too. I cleaned everything and then just sprayed the primer on it and painted the pieces black. You guys got any tips for a brother in need?? TIA
|
31341, RE: wow! headache time! Posted by loudgs, Sep-22-02 12:45 PM
dood, I used some rustoleum aluminum on it and sprayed it with clear, it still hasnt chipped and looks new, this is of like 4 months, so I dont think it matters what kinda paint you use, just clear it

i used krylon with no clear. after i primed i sanded it again and cleaned it then primed sanded and cleaned again. then paint, sand, and clean, then another coat of paint
mine has held up for almost a year with minimal scratches from my gf and other people hitting the seatbelt on the passenger door
