31227, How to re-clearcoat carbon fiber Posted by eklipsdrvr99, Sep-16-02 04:06 PM
I just need to know if re-clearcoating carbon fiber is different from any other materials. If so, what grit sandpaper do I need to sand it down with and is there any special type of clearcoat that needs to be used with carbon fiber. Any help would be great because the clearcoat on my carbon fiber wing is starting to peel off. Thanks.

im not sure what grit sand paper, but the clearcoating process should be done with regular automotive clearcoat.
Most CF hoods need to be reclearned because the crap they use gets eaten by mosquitos and stuff.

Wow...cool...I just thought it was one coat of crapy clear. That's why it was crapy...not cause mosquitos eat it. coo
