anyone have experience doing body work? I'm thinking about painting my bumper myself, I have a professional grade spray gun and compressor that I have access too, and it'd be a hell of a lot cheaper than having someone else do it, any suggestions? do it or not? if so, is there anything I'd need to know before tackling this, Imma be painting a gel coated fiberglass front. Thanks!

most people i know regrest trying it themselves. its a different kind of paint, really thick, not like spray paint. if you do try it i would practice on something first. maybe get an old hood from a junk yard or something.

if youve got the gun and the compressor , go a head and try, you will need to make sure your garage or what ever is totally clean and dust free, etc..

do it. It would be worth the effort and you'll learn how to do it, so next time you wanna paint something, you can do it. Make sure you where a mask. That shit is nasty to breath. Oh, and make damn sure you sand everything! Paint wont stick if you dont! I agree with the practice though, find some random car part you can practice with. Whether you have to buy something or not, just get something to practice on! You wont regret it!

i wouldnt do it if you didnt know how to do it... theres ALOT of work into painting but if your going to try good luck

It takes YEARS to master painting. Some painted that have painted for 15 years still can't paint good enough for show cars, and can't spray pearl right.

yea, as the time gets closer that I was gonna try it, I think Imma go ahead and abort, let my body shop do it, cuz I dont wanna ruin a 250 dolla bumper, I just assume spend the 100-150 to get it professionally done, however I'm still gonna use the spray gun for the interior, what you guys think for this combo...all white interior with midnight blue accents? this is on a red car so I'm not sure how it'll turn out

I would personally do white and red or white and gray or white and black for your interior since your car is red...
