How do I get my needles off without damaging them? And how would I go about clearing the orange off the back. I have replace all my gauge bulbs with Blue LEDs however, the needles look like poop with the orange still on there... Any suggestions?
I dont want to fack up my gauges by ripping the needles off.
Thanks in advance,
Chris b.

fingernail polish remover and a que tip. i took the paint off mine without taking the needles off.

2 warnings tho, cover your guages or the polish remover will tear that shit apart and peal the black faces right off.

also, i broke about half inch of each needle so now there are shorter than they used to be

. you might wanna just take the needles off, grab the base with some pliers and pull hard! lining them up again is not fun tho.

ok here is the deal,

mark where your needels rest so you know where to put them back on

take a small flat screw driver and gently pry them up or pull them off with your fingers

next to clear them use a rasor and scrape it off or nail polish might work
now to make the gauges clear, first hold them up to the light, you can see tat there orange. So with 120 grit paper sand the back side till the orange is gone, to check hold it up to the light.

this is a gehto write up so if you need n e more help ask

I'll probably be doing this soon too, so thanks for the info. How can I make my needles another color after I take the orange paint off?? Do I have to put LED's back there??

i also took of the needles.. just make sure you mark them and they should be fairly easy to recalibrate. on a side note.. when you sand the amber off the back of gauges, you should be carefully to only sand off the part where the numbers and tick marks are... if you dont, then when the light shines through, it will dispearse unevenly.. to change the color of the needles.. you can paint them with stain glass window paint.. but the stock light isnt that bright and will not illuminate the needles that bright. if you want to make it look best... just change all the lights in the back with leds.. will make it look great. and paint the backs of the needles white, because it will reflect the light and illuminate them the most.
