I bought some of the metalcast anodized red but im afraid to paint anything red in my engine bay. Make sure you buy the Metal cast Groundcoat. The Groundoat helps give it the effect. I painted a piece of plastic and it turned out awesome but then i was still afraid to paint anyting on my car. The anodized red looks really good and it is also heat resistant.hmm...maybe i could do my calipers. But anyway if your sure you want those colors it way better than just regular color spray paint imo. btw use real thin coats

I'm going to do some calpiers on JP's car in blue metalcast... we tried it out on his stock shift knob (was just lying around on the grass) and it came out great... I'll keep you posted.

I kinda want to try it on my calipers. Anyone know if it holds up good with heat? Paint some shit.valve cover maybe? if it comes out bad, have it blasted and powdercoated! :P

it doesn't hold up to good to the heat from our engine...at least when i did my manifold heat shield...it turned the nice pretty blue color all greenish-brown...I may just sandblast it and powdercoat it anondized...hope you guys have better luck than I did

the heat shield gets hot. I had to use blue away to re polish my shield. I have a semi-polished shield, if u will that I drive with. I put the shiny fugger on at shows.

I used the blue on my valve cover and silver (just the ground coat) on my calipers. It turned out very nice, and I get lots of compliments. It will hold up to 500 degrees. I bought mine at the Carlisle Custom Compact Power Jam, and when I bought it the lady told me you can use it on anyting up to exhaust. If you have other real anodized blue parts(like an intake) it wont match perfectly, but it is a close match.

Alright thanks guys. I'm gonna go get some and find out if it works.....also what is the groundcoat?? I wasn't really planning on painting anything really big in the engine bay, i was just gonna do like the oil cap and small stuff like that.

If your worried about using it on your calipers or valve cover you can use the high temp primer then paint it. If you put high temp primer on it you can paint it with anything. This is what I read on a post a couple months ago. I haven't tried it but it makes sense.
