when u install a 4 point harness, do u have to use the rear seatbelt bolts to install it, or is there another way? In case u are wondering, I am getting corbeau cr1's.

well I've never installed a 4 point but you should use the seat belt bolts. You can also put your own bolts in too. It's a 4 point though so I"ve never installed one.

I don't really want the straps to take up backseat space. The back seat needs to be open for my bookbags and shit for school. plus it looks cleaner without straps all over the place. So, I should drill the holes somewhere?

i got a 4 point and i used the points that they had in the car. I mean, even if u put in your own, you still gonna have to have them somewhere towards the back. And it has to be set in a stable spot. SO what other spot besides the backseat would allow you to drill holes into it?

I say us the pre-made ones. Ive seen people use them and still have their backseet put back in.

I suppose you're right. I trust the stock shit better than anything I could rig up. It's still gonna be better. Racing seats. Having the rear done in blue and black vinyl or tweed. Might get flames on the center or something wild. We'll see. I would get the headliner, but I wanna cut a targa, so not yet. I wanna get a blue acc mats carpet to go in too. I have basically made $900 in about 5 days. Legally! I'm shocked as hell. I have some $$$ to play with. I need to go all out for fund raising and get boost behind my ass now. :P

if you are talking about using the bolts on the bottom where the rear seat belt buckle is, the you are just asking to die literally. you should not EVER mount a fixed harness, or any harness for that matter at less than a 45 degree angle from the back of the seat. if you get in a head on collision or any frontal impact the belt will pull down and crush you. It is even not totally recommended that you mount them at 45 degrees. I mounted mine to the rear upper seat belt bolt. this will give you a direct shot to the holes in the seat.

will this retain my rear seat belts? If not, no problem. Just curious. I'll find out in about 2 weeks or sooner anyways. Ordering next week.

you can leave the stock seat belts in place, just bolt it over the 4 point mounts.

jamesman., then where do u hook up the other bolt that goes in the back. If you hooked up one to the rear seat upper seatbelt holder....where is the other one mounted? Dont tell me your stretched it all the way to the pass side rear upper seatbelt mount.

Can we see some pics of where they go? I want to do this in the future and now I won't have to ask when the time comes.

I'd like to see pics too. this could go on the mods page for racing seats/ harness install possibly imo.

I mounted them both there, basically making it a 3 pt harness, the ideal place to mount the harness would be a roll cage, but not all of us have a roll cage. so i mounted both to that one bolt, the stock mounting points are the best place because they are the strongest areas. i would recomment getting a 3 pt harness like a Schroth autocontrol and putting that there, it is a little cleaner an installation.
