I had my CF hood painted...but it was proffessionally done for 65 bucks.....wasted money tho, a tornado ripped the stupid thing right off the car.

just wet sand the gel coat and use 400 grit. You would prep it like any other fiberglass or metal hood. You don't have to sand too much, just make it nice and smooth like any hood you'd paint.
