28877, HELP! C-clamp for door Posted by Stealth915, Aug-14-02 06:25 PM
ok, so i'm in my apt complex's garage taking apart my door, something i've done many times before at my old house, with a small garage, and I use a screwdriver to pry out the c-clamp holding the handle that u use to roll down the window (manual windows). Next thing you know, the lil bastard flies out, i hear it bounce a couple times, then i realize: "crap... how am i gonnd find it?" so right now, it's probably under some other car somewhere, and i was wondering if there's a place i can go to just buy one to replace it? like home depot or something... or if i have to go to satan?

YES!!!! IM NOT THE ONLY ONE!!!
ok, not that thats aside....the same thing happened to me except it flew into my yard. i spent a lot of time trying to find that little clamp that holds the window crank on. satan told me they would have to order a whole new window crank mechanism for like $60 , then they sent me to a auto parts store, auto parts stores sent me bouncing around from town to town...
i finally found a replacement kit. i have it here. i got it from Mothers Performance Center. it was like $6 and came with 4 clips that are our size, and 4 that are about half that size since the kit is supposed to be universal. the clip that fits our crank though, extends too far and i had to cut about 1/4 inch off of each side with wire cutters. now it works great and ive taken the same one off and put it back on numerous times since i lost the original one.
if you need a clip, email me, ill send it to you in a regular envelope like a letter. email me here if you would want me to send it to you. ICEDRAGLN@AOL.COM
I can also give you pics if you want.
Hope I can help ya, cause i spent about 2 weeks lookin for one.
