I remember when I was a kid, I rode with my dad in one of his friend's Cadillac, and I remember the dash.. it was all DIGITAL... Anyways, I found a scrap cadillac, and I can get the dash out, but do you think it will work (function) in our cars?
Thanks

In my opinion.....Probably wont work....and also in my opinion, I wouldnt bother trying to make it work....I say this because it would be very hard to fit into an eclipse and the wiring would also be a big pain in the butt....You could, if you wanted, buy digital readout gauges....Hot rodders use them in their cars regularly...pick up a HOTROD magazine from the newstand...they have commercials in those all the time...Hope that helps.

I like them. I drove my grandfathers 4.9 the oher month, and it has some power. He got a FWD one. I got on it one time, and roasted the tires, and the digital speedo shot up there quick. It probably isn't faster than a 2gnt, b/c the weight, but you can feel the power. But yeah, just get digital gauges. is it www.dakotadigital.com ?

They don't have a set for a DSM, they do have one for a VW..
Anyways, I was thinking this.. tell me if this would work..
I get a OBD system and hook that up to my laptop. Then have the laptop TV out whats on the screen to a TV in the dash...
Smart idea, huh? :-)

Good idea in theory, but the problem is that most obd systems have fairly frequent disconnections with your car. You really aren't gonna want to be reconnecting all the time while you drive.

well you will never get them to work, your best bet is to buy a dakota digital dash system, you can get all digital stuff that way

You may want to talk to Lotalon (Keith) about this... he has an all-digital custom fiberglass dash. You can find more info at http://www.boostabuse.com
Here's a pic of his dash:
