2858, Indiglo burn-out time question/Found reverse indglos non-turbo... Posted by tim97rs, Apr-09-01 10:03 AM
Hey guys (and gals) Anybody have there indiglos burn out on them? How long has anyone had them in there cars? 3mo. 6mo. 1yr? A "gentleman" at MMRUSA told me they have an average life span of about 6 mo. ANy info on that? Also, for those who may be interested, i found non-turbo reverse indiglos at a place out of AZ, street-beat.com, on sale for 89.00. Let me know some info, thanks... Tim97rs

My question on them is, are the Tach Gauges on the NT right. since it was pointed out to me after I bought mine that the Tach on the Indiglo for the NT are the same as the Tach for an Automatic.

what happens when they burn out in 6 months? You dont have to buy complete new guages do you? Because if thats the case forget it.. :)

so are mine. i assume they told you that to try and sell you some of their gauges. MMR specializes in non-indiglo custom gauges which do look good, but they dont make EL gauges so he was probably trying to make a sale

It's like selling someone an automatic when they want a stick. When I 1st bought my car they wanted to sell me a '98 V6 Contour AUTO for 15K(good price) or Integra auto. NO WAY. All my cars have been stick and I will keep it that way until I'm paraplegic.

There is some validity to the eletrolumenesence (sp) degrading over time. Thats what halted the production of Autometer Lunar gauges. I've heard of several cases of idiglos going out (but not gradually from degrading but like a tach or speedo ect just going dead). I'd like to get them anyway but I have WAITED and CONTINUE TO WAIT until one of these f*ckers makes a 5sp NT version cause I aint buying 2 1 turbo and 1 NT set like you must to have a proper tach (unless I find a turbo auto owner to trade tachs with).

I'm with you Stan. I am waiting for one to read right or to find a dealer who is willing to do a swap for me. (not that I've looked that hard for one) I was also hoping to have the Lunar series out so I could have my pillar guages match. BUt they've postponed the Lunar series again. But I really like the looks of the reverse indiglos. JUST GIVE ME A TACH! sorry a little carried away there.

Damn I thought I was the only one who had nightmares about their car. I cant tell you the number of dreams I've had where either the car was stolen and I had to replace it with a POS or it was vandelized and robbed to hell causing me to wake up, look out the window for assurance and thank God its still there as I left it.
