Headlights are out.....bumper is still on.......end of discussion.



Maybe this thread should get saved as proof.....no more arguments.

Careful puttin them back in ..... I screwed myself when I did mine.

I tightened the bottom bolt first and after it was tight went to take the socket out and it dropped in under the headlight. The only way to get to it was to get the headlight back out....well that was my only 10mm socket so the next day I went and bought 3 of them in various ratchet sizes just incase and rescued my original socket.

good try.....LOL......but why the hell would I bother to do that??
You know very well how much of a pain in the ass it is to take off the bumper anyways.

Oh...on a side note.....this way is just about as big a pain in the ass.....probably woulda been easier if I had thought to at least take off the top bolts on the bumper.....good thinkin scothern!!
I'll use that approach putting them back in.

I agree! I took mine out today bu put them back in. I didnt take them apart yet because I didnt get the paint. I jsut wanted to see if I could do it. Well I did and I found out that when the bodyshop fixed my car they didnt put the bottom bolts in. therefore I only have three holding them in and not 4. Also I removed the 5 bolts at the top of the bumper to move it back out of the way some and one of the f'ing bolts busted. I noticed alot of rust under there. How in teh hell did this happen? All the bumper bolts are rusted solid and the metal behind the light is missing paint and bubbling up. I am so pissed!

Don't put the bottom bolts back in... they are not needed and make it a bitch to take apart in the future.

you can take out your headlights without taking off your bumper. end of discussion. you CANNOT take off your bumper for the first time without taking out your headlights. Thx info~

I ended up ripping my stock headlights out and breaking them, so I beleive that there is no way to take the bumper off without taking the lights out, and there is no way to take the lights out without taking the bumper off. :p This is the most mysterious thing I have dealt with, with this car period.

And who really cares anyway? The best laid plans all go to crap when you actually get to wrenching - and this includes taking off your bumper.

ZHR47 helped me take off my bumper for the first time so I knew how to do it. We DIDN'T REMOVE THE HEADLIGHTS AT ALL. I was thinking about driving it to chris's house to clear my headlights, I put the bumper back on and waited. Merlin ended up helping me clear my headlights where we TOOK THE LIGHTS OFF WITHOUT TAKING THE BUMPER OFF.

I totally agree with the statement that you can remove the headlites without removing the bumper though. I did it.

you dont have to take out the headlights to remove the bumper



but to remove the headlites properly, you should take the bumper off. otherwise, ur gonna be rippin out bolts

The easiest way to remove the front bumper is to first remove the fasteners on each side holding in the splash shield. Second, remove the fasteners under the front lip holding the trim that directs air toward the radiator. Third, remove the bolts at the top, between the headlights. Lastly, look up under the car for the bolts as shown in the diagram. Remove those and the whole assembly should slide right out. This includes everything shown in the diagram.

I also removed the bumper and left the lights on... so it can be done.

ok well maybe it wasnt your first time removing it... or maybe GS-T's have additional attachments... because on my car there are two bolts on each side BETWEEN THE HEADLIGHTS AND THE BUMPER, that you need to remove the headlights in order to reach.

I replace my stock lights with Chrome Projectors without taking off the Front Bumper. Love the Projectors. I have PIAA Super Plasma Bulbs in them for about 6 months now and the sheeiit is bright.

I never take anything off if I don't have too. Hahaha

I am so glad you guys are talking about this topic my friend switch my turn signal bulbs he got one in and the other somehow he got it to come off the connecter and now the bulb is stuck in the headlight i need to know how to take the headlight out? Which bolts and how many and what to use to get the bolt out?
This would really really help me.
