27920, A warning for anyone with a custom mesh grill......Learn from my mistake!!! Posted by sinesis333, Jul-31-02 10:12 PM
Well what do you know....little ol' Eric went and fucked himself out of 5 hrs. worth of labor that he put into his car....
Be smarter than me, and never take your car through one of those harsh ass spinning bristle car washes.....especially if the only thing holding on your grill is some bondo("Dries to the strength of concrete!!!!" yeah right :rolleyes ) on one side and silicone on the other....stupid thing even bent up my license plate.... Hand wash that shit!!!!
guess that's what I get for being cheap and in a hurry.........
shit :(

I have one and go through those car washes all the time. mines held in by the 4 screws (2 per side) that hold in my black fog light dummies. i just took out the dummy, put in mesh, then put the screw back in through the mesh. the sides are only held in at the bottom by a screw that holds the bumper on (theres like 16 of them total). I just bent the mesh to a 90 degree angle and screwed it in on each side.

Try and find a laser wash. There is one near me and the car gets really clean without anything touching it so there aren't any scratches.

I can't even drive through them if I tried. I use spray car washes...or a buddys house only.
