27427, ANYONE WITH RUDORA KIT INFORMATION! Posted by ghost, Jul-25-02 02:53 PM
I need to know from anyone who has seen this kit in person or worked with it before....
It looks super low in the ground dynamics pictures...like it looks low on the side skirts AND the rear bumper, not just the front. It dips down in areas and almost touches the ground. I need to know if this thing is going to be a big time road rash kit or if it actually has some decent ground clearance. I don't have the money to be replacing/repainting fiberglass shit all the time.
But anyway...I am looking at getting this kit because my repaint will come very soon. Any ideas comments on the rudora would help me guys!
Also, what spoiler/wing would look good with it? I was thinking either the stock one I have on it or a turbo spoiler. Not into the APR aluminums...but if anyone has any recommendations, spit them at me!
Thanks guys!

I have never seen the kit in person, nor have i messed with it(duh) but it definetly looks like it is lowered. The wheels on that eclipse is really snug with the fenders. It's no factory look. I'm almost 100% sure that the car is lowered.

Why your hero? Why don't other people have it? I see it for the same price as other kits...if people like/want it so much, why don't they just get it? Is there a specific reason, like it might drag real easily or something?
TIA

Same price as other kits? The real rudora is $900 just for a front bumper, and the replicas usually aren't too cheap either. The kit does sit pretty low. If you have people in the back and your car is low, then you might scrape a bit on the rear of the side skirts and the rear bumper. The front bumper also sticks out more in front, so you have to be careful. But with any kit, you have to be careful driving it.

I know the real one costs major bux, but I've found it for about the normal price of kits.
I plan on eventually getting new wheels/suspension... and dropping about an inch in front and a little over an inch in the back...not sure how the dropping stuff goes, but I've read that they drop the back a little more than the front or vice versa...can't remember. But I don't want it too low since it will be a daily driver.
It will scrape with other people in the back? My friends are big football players...I can usually only get one in the back when he's wasted and he has to lay horizontal and scrunched up. Roughly 250lbs...would that drop it? (most likely I'm guessing)
You say the nose sticks out more...? More than most kits? I can barely keep mine from scraping as it is...I don't want to tear up fiberglass kit every day....
hmm... well got any advice on what could be down about this kit or alternative kit recommendations?
I like the rudora cuz it looks more like a stock super car(in a way) or more complete instead of unfinished aftermarket look...IMO.
TIA

ground dynamics does not sell rudora kits, they sell fake rudora kits. do you honestly think they can pay overseas shipping on a FULL body kit that is manufactured only in japan, and then sell the whole kit for the amount they probably paid just for shipping?if so, theyre giving away $2500 japanese body kits for free and covering shipping for you. my bomex rear bumper (a japanese original that was manufactured by bomex USA) cost $800 shipped, youre talking about an entire kit. the rudora is lower thanmost in the areas where it sags low, but the red spyder is lowered a good bit. the problem is, the sides on the rudora must be molded. molded sides, that are lower than most, being driven by the owner of a car who's never driven a kitted car is not a good combination. i would bet youll crack them both at least once

Hence my original post from earlier:
"I know the real one costs major bux, but I've found it for about the normal price of kits." IT being the fake kit.
>the rudora is lower thanmost in the >areas where it sags low, but the red spyder is lowered a >good bit. the problem is, the sides on the rudora must be >molded. molded sides, that are lower than most, being driven >by the owner of a car who's never driven a kitted car is not >a good combination. i would bet youll crack them both at >least once
That's why I asked if this kit was a good idea or not.
What kit would you recommend for a driver new to kitted cars?
TIA

Actually the rudora sides do NOT have to be molded. The gunmetal eclipse on my site does not have the sides molded in.
