26859, Body Kit for 95 Posted by Mattcky2k, Jul-17-02 06:26 PM
ok i have a 95 eclipse and i'm getting ready to order a body kit, probably the blitz for the 97-99 eclipses but my question is what all do i need to make this conversion? i'v seen some sites that say you need the 97-99 reverse lights but what exactly does that mean? just the covers or what? and do i need spacers or soemthing like that for the front bumber? thanks for any help

here we go again.. ;)... if you are getting the 97-99 kit for the 95-96.. you need to get the 97-99 headlights/projectors if you do not want a 1/2"-1 1/2" gap between the bottom of the lights and the bumper... for the rear bumpers... b/c the two different bumpers have two different positions for their reverse lights and their differnt shapes... for most aftermarket rears, they use the same shape of the stock lights.. in your case, you will need to get the correct fitting reverse lights in order to have the bumper work.. im sure that you could ghetto-rig something if you didnt want to.. but that would be a waste of time.. just get some used ones.

It sucks for us 95-96 people... You look at a bodykit's price and think you can afford it and then forget that it is going to cost $300+ for the conversion.
The Horror! The Horror!

All I did was go to satan. Pay $40 for the 97-99 reverse lights and found a company that makes front bumpers for the 95-96 headlights.

Yo bro...
I forgot what you said...but how much was your body kit? Didn't you say like $600 from Ground Dynamics?
I found one for $500 shipped...but it's a 97+...so add in $300 for conversion... that's like $800 without installation and paint.
I don't know, I'm a cheap bastard still trying to figure out the most economical route! :)

It was $450 but I got poly sides and back so it jumped up to like $520 plus shipping.

Not bad at all... for poly!
And you say you got them from ground dynamics? Cuz those prices don't match up on their website anymore.

I talked to them in person. You can talk them down in price a little. They didnt even have a website when I first got my kit so they probably just post somemore expensive prices and when you talk to them they "cut you a deal" they took a long time at first to ship all my stuff out so they upgraded to the plastic for my for pretty cheap becuase of it. I think if you call and talk to Oscar he'll hook ya up.
