2639, Front end suggestions???
Posted by 9D9 MITSU RS, Apr-01-01 11:48 AM
Which is better? Fiberglass or urethane? I want a front end on my car and I need one that is about the same ground clearance as the stock 97-99 front end. I have my car lowered and I can't get a lower bumper put on. Any suggestions or info will be appreciated.

Urathane is better because it is stronger than fiberglass. Urathane is much more resistant to rubbing on drivways and dips in the road. Fiberglass can crack or chip very easily if you are not careful.

The only Urathane aftermarket bumper that i know of the the Stillen bumper.

Most aftermarket front ends have about the same actual ground clearence as a stock 97-99 bumper, but many are longer than stock so therefore bottom out easier.

If you do get a fiberglass bumper, i suggest you keep your bumper incase you want to switch again or your fiberglass one cracks.

I had a Blitz bumper but i just traded becasue i was sick of driving around at stock height and still rubbing. Now my car is dropped and rubbing doesn't really matter on a stock bumper. The guy i traded my bumper with has cut Prokit springs, his back wheels were tucked. I don't know how he is going to drive around with that kit. He barely made it down my driveway.
