2588, Guage install question
Posted by 99_GS, Mar-29-01 07:40 AM
I figured I'd ask before I start pulling shit out.. To remove the guages to install some Indiglo. How many screws hold the dash part in place. I count 2.. but I am sure there are more that I am missing.. either hidden or something. What all needs to be removed to get that section out.

Thanks!

Alrighty then.. I got all that in and now am about to wire it up.. the directions that came with them suck ass. Now my question is.. on the dimmer I have 2 wires. One with a black end and one with the red end. I am assuming the black end is a negitive and the one with the red is the one I wire to the Green wire with the white stripe? Where the hell does the black one go?

Ground the black one, use a screw directy attached to the vehicle body, there's a few underneath the dash.

I had the same question, but after messing around I found the perfect place to Install the red wire. Under the cup holder you have a wire that lights up the ash tray. Tap into that one, so when you flip on your parking lights, so does your indiglo guage. Of course you have to ground your black wire. You can find that on the drivers side wall. The best thing about the location wirign your red wire at this location is that its REALLY easy and its not controlled by the dimmer switch. Good Luck
I installed a digital controlled 6 color Indiglo guage
(The 6th color is the pure white in the day time)

I actually Found the green wire with the white stripe{parking light wire) under the dash.. it was a pain to find since they installed my alarm and after they solder it.. they wrapped it in electrical tape. So the Red went there and then the black went into one the of the bolts on the Golden colored metal peice under the steering wheel that the panel then bolts into.
