25710, body kits and the bumper supports Posted by 95ESi, Jul-02-02 05:16 AM
Can the bumper support bar (that horizontal non metalic bumper thingie beneath the bumper cover) remain in place with a body kit (depending on the style of the new fiberglass cover)?
I don't want to sacrifice safety for looks...

Strada F1 = removal
How hard is it to put back on? I'll prob slip on my stock bumper and the re-bar during winter

not hard. you just slide it back in and it has 2 bolts on each side. 5 mins time

Which fronts don't require complete removal?
So once it's removed, what do you do in regards to safety? Pray that you don't head-on with anything??
What about rear bumpers? I have a rear blitz cover...was wondering whether I'd need to modify anything...

With just about any front, you can keep the support, just get a jig saw and trim it to fit. I have the blitz front(all around actually) as well as a big front mount intercooler and i still have the support. Granted it is smaller than it once was, but the bulk of it is still intact. The back was a different story. We made a new reinforcement out of stell because the blitz rear tucks in pretty close to the actual car body. Justin
