25048, Crack in body kit.....help! Posted by Twobuf4u, Jun-24-02 02:36 PM
Today has sucked...got in a fight the girl over some guy telling a big ass lie about me..then i look at the front of my car and it has a small crack on the very front down near the bottom part. I guess its front dragging bottom on the crappy roads in this part of TN. What can I do to keep it from cracking anymore other than try not to hit sh*t? And also what can I do to repair it? TIA

First of all, break up with your girl...fuckin biznitches aren't worth it! x( Second, marry your car, she will never hurt you, cheat on you, or give you any shit if you treat her right. }>
As for car? Hmm... I am not so experienced, but I've talked to some of the guys on here and other than driving more cautiously/knowing your car's limits...you could get a lip on her made out of fiberglass or aluminum...I've seen people on here with them both. And finally, here is a link for a pre-made lip for the 97+....

Hope this helps and good luck with the devil, I mean girl.

urethane might not crack, but the paint will spiderweb if you scrape too much and stress it.

i have fiberglass, and as long as you are going slow it wont crack, it will bend like urethane, i have spider cracks on the front of my bumper... but you cant see them from a distance, and i also have cracks on the sideskirts from poor mounting... but its all good, i am gonna get the sides, front and rear molded, then i will just have to worry about the seams cracking even more :( but it will look hella good :) :) :thumbup

You should drill a stress relief hole on where the crack begins and where it ends. This should solve your problem, slow or faster you go. Oh yeah At the very begining of the crack and the very end! You won't need a very large size drill bit.
so - hole begining --> o-----------------------o <-- hole end *the crack*

Fiberglass can spider your paint too, it all depends on how well the paint is applied.
