Hey, am planning to move my battery to the truck my self with an after market kit. because of my intake is hitting it and it scratch up and dented my intake Weapon R brand, is to close to it not even a half inch of space between them well the only thing I did for know was putting a piece of bike tire between them like that win the intake get's hot it won't not melt on the batery. this really sucks for know but always can find a solution to the problem. If any body don this tipe of project with the batery change up please give me some hits it will help me very much.After I do this mod am planning to install a batery kill switch on the out side like the drag cars do it looks cool and safe nira and others make this kind of rule any ways for racers.Well later guys please replied to this message bye.

I used my stock try and drilled some holes in the rear. I used my stock black tray from the front as well. I used 8 gauge wire (power and negative) and 4 gauge running straight to my amp in the back. It was pretty simple. I ran the wire inside the car and through the firewall

on posetive post there is the regular one that goes to the starter but where I'am confuse is how I get the other ones the 3 skiny one that com from fuse box and what not. I still have my batery in stock place only thing that I did was remove the cover that it had and I free up about 1quater inch off space for my intake.O and were around the firewall you inserted the poseses

I was also thinking about doing this. Can you use a normal battery, or do you have to use one of the gell filled ones. And i also heard that you have to have a vent for it, because it puts off some type of gas. I'm not sure if this is true or not. Summit racing has a kit that comes with a box 20 feet of 2 gauge positive and 3 feet negative wire and all the conections and suports to mount the box. Its only like $45. Hope that somone can answer my question.

You can use a regular battery. Some people use the Gel because they are maintainance free. You can get other Batteries that are maintainance free, like some DieHards and Prostarts(I have a big A$$ prostart that starts a Chevy 1500) and it sits perfectly in the rear after I bolted it down. BTW when you move it to the rear put it on the passenger side to offest your weight and provide better weight distribution. I setup 2 screws where my old battery was. One is directly to the car and the other is connected to the car but insulated. The power wire connects to the isolated one. This is a little dramatic but VERY professional. You don't have to do all this just run the wire up there and connect all the wires to them like before OR leave you battery cables in the front and connect the wires from the rear to them as if the battery was always there. Then get new connectors for the rear. Be sure to use electrical tape so that the positive does touch the chassis - VERY important. BTW moving the weight to the rear will slightly decrease acceleration but does WONDERS for cornering. It will provide your factory UnderSteering car with some oversteer. You'll see just do it and carve some curves. I hope this helped, if not just post some more questions!

Good again but still confuse,the positive wire post there is 4 white cable- 2 ten guages and 2 eight guage.How I get those back there ,How you did it? Please help

I have an optima drycell deepcycle in front and want to hook up another in back for my amp(plus it looks nice). The optima has front hookups for large gauge wire...here is a pic it is the one on the left (yellow one)

would i just have to run large hookups from the front to the front on the one in the rear and that would keep it charged?

...ok you said you had 4 wires in your bay originally running to your battery. I wouldn't run them to the back just run a large (4) gauge wire to the front to connect them all to.

just pay the 150 and get a totally sealed battery...i got an optima dry cell deep cycle battery for about 160. it is totaly sealed and it an awesome battery....124 min of continuous use without charging.

...then you pay another 150 dollars. I can get my prostart or diehard for 100 bucks. Unless you don't plan on keeping your car for a while then the drycell is worth it, but if you're like me and want your car until it stops running and is on its 3rd engine this would be a better idea. Also there are other things to think about; like could that measily drycell power my 2500 plus watts of music, subs and tweeters. I've had 3 batteries for my car already(that's $150 saved already and you're only talkin' $91). Ultimately it's on your preference and how long you will own your car. This looks very temping for me and I won't have to worry about finding that special drycell, which isn't sold at any Pepboys in my area or Sears - My 2 favorite hardware stores:)! We also don't have Advance.
