his car is silver, but his uncle owns a paint shop and i told him if he can get it painted black i'll prob would, and no she wouldn't my g/f said i should but the thing is, is that it's kinda unique for someone to have a wing on an eclipse and i think i really like the way mine looks, who cares if it ricey, one day it will be wing worthy (turbo . . . . etc etc)

I got news for you, no wing will ever help our cars. They are used for drag. They force the rear of the car down for traction... for rear wheel drive cars. Anytime you push on the back of our cars you lose traction so don't think of it as a functionality issue. Neither are going to be functional. So then you have to ask, which do you like better? Let that be your deciding factor.

Downforce on the back end of a car does make a diffrence regardless of weather the car is FWD, RWD, or AWD. Added down force on the back of the car will not lighten up the front of the car any. Yes, if power were going to the rear wheels then the downforce created helps much more than if the car is FWD. Remeber most of the weight of the car is in the nose especially with a FWD drive car. A good example of downforce making a diffrence in a FWD car is the Audi TT. The car was recalled and a spoiler was added to all the cars to help with high speed stability regardless of wether they are FWD or AWD.
In reality though the wings available for our cars add little to no downforce but do add a lot of drag. The wings are just for looks. Do you really think that our spoiler can take 100+lbs of downforce? If you do then I dare you to stand on it. The only wing on a stock car that I can honestly say was ment for real downforce is the old Roadrunners. I've seen pictures of three people sitting on those wings.
I say trade. I'm not a big fan of the aluminum benches. Also since his unlce owns a body shop try to work painting of the spoiler and filling on any holes into the deal.

i have a gst with stock wing, mine does not get squirly at high speeds. ive had it up to 130 (gsts are speed limited) and it was pretty damn smooth!

"Few people understand the psychology of dealing with a highway traffic cop. Normal speeders will panic and immidiately pull over to the side. This is wrong. It arouses content in the cop heart. Make the bastard chase you, he will follow..."

screw what your GF thinks dude, mine (ex) made me trade in my 2000 Celica GT for a 2002 ford explorer (hated it), then I went for the 'clipse, women just want to make us confused, yup, btw, get whatever you want, cause it's what you'll have, it better be what you like, and if it's what you like, then you'll like it, so get what you like.
