Does anyone know if anybody makes a lamborgini style door kit for the eclipse. I saw some pictures of an eclipse with the doors open, it looked pretty cool. it looks like it would be alot of work, because the door jam would have to be angled in the other direction.

$10,000? theres no way.

i saw these in person, its just a different hinge setup. there is no way on gods green earth that a cool hinge is $5,000 each. hell, even direct from lambo the door hinges arent that much.

ive heard (3rd person tho) that body shops have quoted 700-2000 to do this

Ya a couple thousand dollars sounds about right. You have to custom make all the hinges etc. There is a 1g eclipse at our shop that has these doors, but the owner abandoned the car. Its just been sitting in the corner for over a year...

nope they really were 10 grand on two different cars. i assume youre talking about the chamelion eclipse with the air bags? well he has the doors running on hydraulics so the door is switched to pump out and then up. and no it doesnt seal right anymore, at least thats what he told me. there is also a CRX that has the, he paid the guy 10G's also to make his. its so much more than just moving hinges, you have to fabricate a new handle mechanism to open the door from inside the car, new weather seals to accomodate windows closing from the top rather than the side, etc, etc.

scissor doors (like the lambo), not gull wing (like classic benz and delorean)

gull wing doors would be basically imposible since we have frameless windows
