ok, its time to for a trunk over haul! ive seen some recent pics of some nice looking speaker enclusures, props to you that have them, and have decided to do the same. im looking at an enclsore that takes up the entire trunk, with the speakers and amp up top. heres my questsion:

what type of material did you use?? does it add alot of weight?? im looking for something show qaulity but also wanna race without taking it all out. if possible, id like to keep my spare so a way to open it would be a bonus. help me out guys.

MDF- medium desity fiberboard for the speaker box and plywood for the rest

Mine total is about 80lbs maybee?

Either have one made outof fiberglass or get a turbo

msd is the right wood.but if you wnat it to be light an lookgood.you need to go fiberglass.with wood you can't do much to have it really fit the shape of your ride.if you need help.iam happy to give you links to a site that shows you how to make your box with fiberglass.it really is not hard at all.

its been about 2 years since i stoped competing in sound quality comps. not to much should have changed. if you want to have somthing thah is show quality then you will want to use fiberglass. if you are doing it your self it will take a lot of time. it is best to talk to local stero shops and get to be firends with the owner or main installer. then just run your ideas by him first and listen to what they think they do this stuff for a living and know more about it than most of us.

i can tell you though that keeping the spair tire is not a good idea
even if you dont yue the wheel well having a box that is 80 to 100 pounds on top of it that is as big as the trunk will make it almost imposable to get to anyway.
