Just wondering if anyone has a picture of an AEM CAI where the bypass valve was taken off and they put a silicon boot on in the bypass valves place.

Diamn Myke I forgot how clean yur engine looks, Ive always been paying attention to that stillen front bumper lately. A red intake would match yur car great, but das jus IMO. Thanx for the picture

care to explain how you came to such a.. unique conclusion? :)

Its useless because unless you are driving through a river or a couple feet of water your not going to get water in your intake. A common myth of intakes are that they actually suck air in, and its not true. They actually just "catch" the air as it goes by. All the bypass valve does is act like a restrictor, blocking some air from reaching the TB and also creating turbulence in the intake.

that and mine fell apart in two pieces. The foam ripped off, etc. Total waste of time and money imo. I can take pics but rite now I don't feel particular in getting up to do so.

where could I get some silicon coupling? I have a bypass, but shouldn't need it until late summer/early fall when it rains hard and shit. I have actually needed the bypass. Drove a few times where streets were flooding and water was going everywhere. I think it saved me. But when it's dry, I'd rather drive without it. I keep a screwdriver and it wouldn't take long to swap in coupling or bypass valve. (if weather looks bad)

Dang man i would hate to live wherever you live, where you located? Talking about all that rain and 3 ft potholes in another post lol. i would be careful when walking outside while its raining. I would hate to drown in a 3ft pot hole.:P

Do what I did, just cut off a 3-4 inch section off the end of the cone filter (it's already like 6 inches anyways) and use that as a "connector" and since you are removing the bypass, you can now use those screw clamps in its place. Easy.

I'd like a blue one tho. I don't wanna cut my filter base off any. I like having too much so I feel safe it's not gonna fly off. There isn't like 3 feet potholes, but there are some monsters. Just exaggerating to show the seriousness of those bitches. Some of the late summer and fall rains are heavy here and the roads suck here so bad. can't wait to move. They don't drain for shit and get about 5-6 inches of water standing in places and sometimes more. They are doing roadwork now on a major highway on the side of town and damn. It's got raised sections, potholes, uneven pavement. It sucks my balls 3 times. I am planning on moving to the beach though in about a year, so I can't let heavy rain bother me. Just gotta make sure I get a house with a nice garage that won't flood.
