Is it possible to slide the fender and door apart at all? When I recently had to get some repairs done it seems the gap is too tight between driverside door and front fender because my doorcap keeps hitting the front part of the sideskirt, which is causing both of them to peel up from the car. How would I go about adjusting this??

Yeah you can adjust the gap but it's not the easiest thing to do. You got to adjust the hinges on the door itself, not the fender mounts. I'm not sure which way to adjust the hinges but I know that's how you do it, had the same problem when I put my Z3's on. Took the guy like 3 tries to get it right and he was just playing with the door hinges and left the fenders alone. I hope that helps a little.

The hinges are not that hard to adjust... just unscrew them a little bit so they loosen up a bit (make sure you have someone to hold you the door thought and DON'T take the screws all the way out! < that's a big No-No :nono) then just simply measure the gap of the 'good' door & slide the 'bad' door back until it almost measures up more or less to the 'good' side and tigh the screws ...

OH! VERY IMPORTANT !!! YOU MUST be careful about how much you move the door back and forth (in the hinges) since if you slide it to far back (or making the gap un-even) the door WILL make the hell of a POPING sound whenever you close it or open it !
BAD-ASS-LOUD-POPING-SOUND I may add ! }>

I had to "play" in positioning the door about 5-6 times (that's 5-6 times loosening and tighning the hinges) 'til finally I got the gap not to hit the fender WITHOUT making the door pop at the same time (and to be sincere, the door kinda still pops ... my driver's door is as silence as droping a pin, but my passenger side does still pop a bit)
Also... make sure (very sure indeed) that it is not the fender the one that is bad-positioned (perhaps it could've "slide" back ?). Check out the gaps in between each side of both fenders and the hood. You never know !
