Hello all, How do you guys paint your carpet black?

you don't just order some new stuff from www.accmats.com
i think it's only 200 bucks and it is suppose to fit really nice

Orrrrrrrrrrrr.... In case you just don't have $200 ( or the $150 :rolleyes ) I heard that some 2GNT'neers here have dyed their carpets with black Liquid Rit-Dye (I think it was 2-3 bottles not diluted)... I am about to do mine. I am just waiting to fill up with courage to actually get 'hands-on' with that little project. Besides, I got my car with carpets that are really stained so what's the worst it could happen? :wary ... If it don't work then I guess I would be the next one to order them from accmats.com
You might wanna do a Search on it though... I know it's been disccused before.

only dye ur carpet if you live in a place that has no rain, my boy did and when it raind' i got in and my white shoes were half black, kinda blue.

my carpet was the dirtiest thing i've ever seen. i took it out for a few days, washed it real good again, and again, got more dirt out each time.

i let it dry real good, then i tried the fabric/viynal paint, uuhhh uhh, no it flaked off in 2 days. so i took it out again, bought wall-mart paint and it worked fine, i've only had to re touch the high traffic spots 2 times in one year! i love it and i reccomend it, for 10 bucks you can't get a better deal. i used like 4 cans i think. and it's like .98 a can.

try it and if you don't like it, you can always guy the 150 dollar carpet.
