I'm trying to decide if I should get a body kit and paint my car, or just paint my car with the stock body. I like the Streetfighter front and Blitz sides and rear very much... however I've been reading that the fronts are hard to maintain. I don't mind normal wear and tear, but I don't want it to look like shit three months after I get it done! This is my only car so I decided to hold off on the turbo and other extreme mods until I get another car I can drive daily.

Basically my questions are if I get a body kit, how well will it hold up to everyday driving (in Ohio). Also, what are some average prices some of you have paid for a body shop to mold the side skirts in and paint the entire car?

I was thinking if I just got the front and rear that would greatly reduce the cost because 1) I wouldn't be paying the $250 for the sides and 2) the body shop wouldn't have to mold anything into the stock body. (Front and rear don't require molding right?)

But if I can get a body kit as well as paint for under $2000 I would be happy.

It all comes down to you get what you paid for. Urithane holds up better in dialy driving. But yo can get the whole kit and painted for under 2000

The kits hold up well, the driver has alot to do with the wear and tear. Here's my personnel opinion on both types

Fiberglass Pro:
More affordable than urethane
Cheaper to fix than urethane
Fiberglass Con:
Doesn't take well to bumps or scrapes
Paint chips pretty easily
Doesn't always fit good (cheap kit = bad fitment)

Urethane Pro:
Bends easliy so it can take bumps and scrapes
Holds paint well
Fitment is usually good (Once again cheap kit = bad fitment)
Urethane Con:
Expensive to fix, if it can be fixed
More expensive than fiberglass
More expensive to paint (at least around here)

So, the bottom line is that if you have the money and you want to be pretty much maintenance free then get a urethane kit. But, if you're a cheapo like me then get a fiberglass version and spend the money else where.
