Yea, mine chips pretty bad. I have to have mine repainted about EVERY 3 MONTHS!, show car with chips = no winning. Lucky for me the guy that does it is good friends with me so it only cost $75 to take it off, sand it, prime it, paint it, and re-clear it.

haha thats exactly what i thought...at least i know im not alone in this neverending battle haha. At least it looks decent and I can put up with it with a lil touch up paint. (just so the cracks dont spread worse or chip more) I knew nick's was messed up, I heard (but not seen) trisha's front is a lil messed up too, and some various other members... Oh well, part of the game , no? hehe :)

Yea, it's to be expected. I knew before I installed mine it wouldn't look "new" long. Seems like like a company like PPG or House of Kolors would come out with a special blend of paint to help combat this problem, maybe make it able to withstand more than just your regular automotive paint. Oh well, that's just wishful thinking, it's all a conspiracy I tell you!

mines aftermarket, but it looks stock. its not urethane, im pretty sure its fiberglass, but the paint is perfect except for normal rock chips

Stock is urethane. Urethane won't chip nearly as easily as fiberglass. When I had my fiberglass front, it was chipped with a week. Me and my friend did a survey and figured out why. We both drove 80+ on the freeway so obviously rock chips would hit the bumper really hard. Our other friend that drives all slow all the time, barely has any chips whatsoever on his fiberglass front. It depends on how you drive, where you live, and your luck. The amount of clear coat can make a difference, but if you hit something hard enough, it will chip no matter what.

as soon as I get the $$$, I'm having mine redone. I have a few un noticeable chips from a fucking truck carrying dirt and gravels. I know they are there tho, so I wanna get better paint that is more resistent to chips. They have an agent to add in that has something to strengthen paint.

i dont think its urethane. my stock one is way heavier than this one. it came from a body shop that makes them and it was grey when it came to my door. its real thin too, thinner than the stocker

Yes if it can bend its urethane. You can't bend fiberglass at all really or it will crack. They probably made a thinner urethane mold to cut costs.

My stock front was light. When you pick it up, the sides kinda hang down b/c it flexes. When I picked my fiberglass one up, it stayed level.
