22549, How to clean/polish foggy headlights?
Posted by Total_Eclipse, May-18-02 10:13 AM
I just bought a 95 GS and one thing that is really bothering me is the foggy and yellowish headlights. I also own a supra that used to have the same problems somewhat, but I did the cleaning stated here:

and it worked great for them. They look like new, and I was wondering if this same method of cleaning them would work for my 2GNT? Has anyone ever done this, or is there another way to clean them? Thanks.

Have you tried using toothpaste to clean your headlights or lamps, those work great too!

How hard is it to remove the headlights cause when I looked at them all I saw was one bolt on top but it seems to be held in there by more then that. Any I missing something? Thanks, also for the toothpaste thing does the headlight assembly just come off so you can get the inside? Thanks

i just removed mine there is 1 bolt in the top, the EASY one, and 2 more bolts in the back of the headlight assembly, they are all 10mm bolts, and you are going to need a small ratchet to fit there and an extension... the tricky part is actually getting them out, you have to at least (if not remove) the front bumper, to the point it is dangling (sp?). and don't forget to unhook the wiring harness and the sidemarker harness.

there is also a fourth bolt on the bottom of the assembly.. its hard to get at, and you dont need to take of the bumper to get the headlights out.. they can slide out with a little pushing, pulling, and cussing.. good luck
