I hope you are taking the door panels out first. Then you can take them apart and paint the piece individualy. That is the best way to do it.

yes im taking the door panels out, i was wondering about the part where the door handle and vent are, cuz i want to paint that part black and then the rest of the door red, sorta how yours is black/white, but i didnt know if the paint would peel off if i were to mask one area once i done with the other, hopefully thats not confusing.

i just painted mine all white first(i am doing red and white), put a couple coats of clear on it, then masked off the white i wanted to keep with masking tape, and painted over with red. i put a couple more coats of clear on the red and then removed the masking tape. i only had one place where the paint started to come off with the tape...pissed me off real bad! it isnt all that noticeable though. but other that that looks real good. also, whenever i took off the tape i went over the whole door again with some more clear coat. i clearcoated the hell out of that biotch cuz the doors take a beating and i didnt want to take the chance of the paint chipping. it was a little easier for me cuz i had to put down the white first to get the red to turn out the right color...if you just paint over your gray with the red, it will turn more of a burgundy color. but i dont know how you are doing it, if your using a primer or whatever...i hoped this helped some. peace
p.s. i got a taillight mod coming that i think you will like

Just take it apart, paint, let dry and then put it back together.

Thats odd, are Eclipse RS's like that? Mines a 95 GS and everything can come out. Does anyone have a pic of a talon door panel?

Mine dont come apart either, I did kinda the same thing as the guy with the talon, only to get the paint not to chip at all, paint all one color, then clear coat, then tape off, then paint your color, next take the tape off before you clearcoat, that is what caused the chipping, I did my passenger side door like 4 times, and it gets real old, so I figured I should try something else, and I didnt have any chipping, looks real good now.

my rs door panels came apart nicely. With the panel off, behind it you will see the vent pieces held in by some screws. Take them off, and CAREFULLY take apart the vent pieces. They are in there pretty good, and have to find the right angle to get em out. I painted the trim piece around the door vent piece, it all came apart really good, just take your time, and be careful.
