if this needs to go somewhere else put it there if not ok. well i was in wal-mart tonight and picked up a mini-truckin mag and saw an article about how to repair scuffed rims. i'll have to type it up onto here later on but if anyone wants it let me know and i'll post it.

i had my 18s on for a whold 24 hours before i hit a nasty pot hole a took a good sized chunk out of one and ruined the tire. the guys that sold me the stuff laughed at me and said, "i told you you should got road hazzard"

Yeah! let us know....I had my 18's on for a whole 2 days before I found my first curb......not a bad scuff...but noticable.....

A while back on my first bodykit ()

I ran offroad during a race and scuffed my wheels on all sorts of bullshit. I didn't actually scratch them, it's just that the passenger side of my car's wheels both had little black marks all over them. They didnt come off with my finger nail or with a good washing.

After almost a year of them being like that, I'd finally found what removes them! I used OrangeClean Foam spray, it's a oven degreeser and a scrab pad, like the ones mom uses in her sink, one side is a spong, other size is kinda ruf, but not enough to scratch.

These two items and a lot of elbow greese brough my wheels back to the day I got them powdercoated.

I used orange clean on my rims too, it works awesome.

well since people want to know i'll post up the steps. Note, this is for polished aluminum rims. i have no clue if all these steps will work on a chrome rim and it will definately not work on powder coated rims, such as white.

here you go.

1. This aluminum rim has been curbed badly. The scuff marks run all the way around the rim and it looks wasted, right? No way. With a little work, this rim will look brand-new at a fraction of the cost of buying a new one.

2. The first step is to grind the nicks and scratches out of the face of the rim. Using an angle grinder and a brown, Rolox abrasive 3-inch disc, feather out the marks. The deeper the mark, the further out you will need to feather it out. Remember not to grind away any more materila than is necessary to sand the marks flat.

3. Next, use a DA sander and 320-grit sandpaper to sand the marks left by the Rolox abrasive disc.

4. Hand-sand the hard-to-reach areas and any other flaws in the rim with 320-grit dry paper also.

5. Take a black emery bar metal polishing compound and apply it to a polishing pad by spinning it on the bar. The friction of the spinning pad will melt the polish onto it. Remember to use a grinder or polisher that will spin between 1,800 and 3,600 rpm so that it works fast enough to be efficient, but not so fast that excessive heat builds up on the surface of the wheel.

6. Apply the polishing compound to the wheel until all of the sanding scratches have disappeared. Apply the polish at 1,800 rpm.

7. Clean all of the compound off of the wheel with warm, soapy water(girls in bikinis optional). It's important to remove all of this coarse compound so that it is not transferred to the next step.

8. We will now repeat the last three steps using a different compound called brown Tripol. Also, switch a new pad onto the grinder or polisher. You must use a new pad with each different compound to keep the compound seperated.

9. The final compound that you'll apply is called green Rouge. Again, repeat the application and cleaning steps. The green Rouge will bring out the wheel's final sheen and brilliance.

10. Apply and polish the green Rouge to not only the areas of the rim that you've repaired but also to the rest of the rim.

11. Once the green Rouge is polished and cleaned to perfection, the rim will look brand-new and you'll have saved a ton of money.
