When you install them, since the belt lock/release mechanism is bolted to the original seat on the side, how do you deal with aftermarket seats, is there a place to connect them on the mounting brackets?

yup it bolts right into the mounting brackets :)

For the right side of my Sparco harness, I used the right rear seat bracket bolt (if that makes any sense).
