20854, bracket broken off headlight
Posted by thisismygs, Apr-26-02 08:25 AM
i've gotta get the headlights for the body conversion, and i saw an auction on e-bay for them. however, the guy says: "Note: One of the plastic bracket broke off (See 2nd picture. This bracket is located on the bottom of the headlight and in NO WAY will affect the performance of the light) - Most people when installing these lights omit putting a screw through this bracket because it requires Removal of the Front Bumper to do so."
is this true? here's a pic of what he's talking about. let me know guys, cuz the auction ends in like 4 hours.

Man - it looks like you missed out on a great deal. To bad for listening to bad advice. There's nothing wrong with those lights. You don't need that bracket.

So you rather go to dsmtader.com and get a light that has the bracket (Which has no effect on the light output) but may leak, have scratches, fog up, ect...

He's even included Hyper Super Plasma Lights for FREE.

To bad you couldn't use your own judgement and jump on a great deal when you see one.

But that's just IMO.

No hard felling Bro. Next time go with your gut feeling. If you really had to ask then you probably wanted it.

Thanks,
Mike

even though you said you the auction is over.. i thought that i would tell you that, almost everyone that does the conversion or puts on projectors leaves off the bottom bolt.. it still holds tightley and has no effect on your car.. that and if you need to take the headlights out again.. you dont have to mess around with that bolt again.. its a bitch getting that last fucker out!!!

look at the picture the headlight is completely damaged. why would anyone want to buy broken stuff. The 97-99 lights pop up all the time for sale. You can get a good deal on a good set of lights. Don't buy damaged stuff you'll regret it in the long run.....

When I installed the projectors, I didn't put that screw back on but my projector set tight there with no problem.

Completely Damage???? Hello. Are you Looking at the same Picture??

The only Damage part is the missing bracket and if you ask anyone that has either installed Projector or OEM Lights - I bet everyone omitted putting the screw into this bracket.

So one Broken Bracket = Completely Damage. Next thing your gonna say if "Hey there's a scratch on the bottom of your Front Bumper - That's completely Damage"

Not that I really care. But get the facts straight. Lots of people here ask question for Good advice. Have you check dsmtrader or ebay lately. There haven't been a Good set for sale in a long time.

By good I mean - No Leaks, No Fogging, No Cracks - Lights work fine.
I don't consider a broken bracket that no one can see and is of no use as completely damage. Besides that's why it so cheap to buy. Why pay more $$$ for a bracket that you will never use.

Save your money and get some Blinker Fluid. LOL

Just IMO. No hard fellings bro!!
