After 2 months of patiently waiting, and having lots of turbo parts sitting in my room just begging to be installed, my car is about 3-4 days away from being returned to me.....

a brief recap:

I got nipped in a accident: slight damage to my combat bomb bumper: Insurance sent me to a expensive body shop, who quoted me a lot of $$ because they are morons and think it's hard to fix a tiny crack, so instead of going back there (sheesh!! these guys wanted to charge the insurance company 1010 for painting and installing a front bumper, NOT including the price of the bumper, just the labor) I took it to another body shop that does some of the "chameleon" and "candy" work around here.........worked him down to a great price, and voila here is the peek.

Tangerine orange with ice blue pearl
Srpayed gsx wheels white also with the ice blue pearl

Looks good...... and can you say quality job? Man they took the doors off the hood off the rims off and even the damn rear hatch. Only thing I gotta ask u is???? Why u gotta copy me and use the ice blue pearl? hehehe j/p I dun mind sharin. well the car is lookin good. can't wait to see the finished product.

First off, thanks guys, I wasn't sure if I was going to get..."damn that's ricey" or something stupid like that....than I realized that I was on 2gnt on not Dsmtalk, LoL, but yeah thanks again guys, especially coming from the guys who have a little bit more experience with color swap like eclipse 804, and basikstylz. Basikstylz, I realize what you mean now when you first got your car back and said "Pictures don't do it justice", it's hard to take a picture of the ice blue pearl right? and when the sun hits it right the car just lights up in blue diamonds and accents.....anyhow, it assures me that this was a quality paint job, but yeah, they took everything possible out, doors, hood, hatch, weatherstripping, interior panels, EVERYTHING except for the engine. I have no trace of green accept for the part under the dash and parts of the engine bay (I didn't want him to move shit around in the engine bay. Supposedly (here we go again) they want the car to sit, all day sat, sun, and mon, then late monday night they want to wet-sand and buff it, tuesday they want to put all the body parts back in....and hopefully, wednesday.....i'm not holding my breath....we'll see

wow... that is a world of change nice job man :D also when they did the color change i have the same color car iwas thinking about it too... did they have to sand ALL the paint off like the door jams and hatch jam n shit like that?! whats the total price going to be btw?!

Ya you have to sand it all in order to paint it. Most shops don't take off the doors because it's extra work. That must have been a pretty pricy job. I was thinking about taking the doors off when I painted my car, but I was too lazy to go through with it.

BTW, if they are willing to let you wait a month, wait at least a month before color sand and buff so it can really let the paint soak in...

Yeah man the pictures don't do the ice pearl justice, but I can tell from your pics that you have way more pearl in urs than mine. it looks nice though and I bet it glows in the sun. I wish I had put more pearl in mine. oh well something to know for next time. I also wanna know what the price was on that paint job. I know u didn't pay for it, but what was the quote they gave u? Now the only thing u really need to worry about is all the bad attention u will get with the good. such as cops, and stupid ass haters. I really havn't had probs with haters, just cops eyein me whenever I drive past them. :-/ Yeah from what I have heard diff things about wet sanding, I have heard some people say what marcus said about the longer u wait the better, cause then the paint soaks in and u can get all the orange peel out. I also heard u should do it real quick, cause the longer u wait the harder than paint gets, and that makes the wet sand job harder, and it doesn't come out as nice. so u might want to ask as many people as possible to see what they have to say. any ways the car looks great.

oh yeah..... tang does sound good right now. :-D

All I can say is... WOW. Look really good so far, make sure you get a butt load of pics up when it's done.

Basikstylz: HELL yeah I'm afraid of the haterz, this past weekend 2 of my friends got their cars broken into at the movie theatres, I can see me coming out of the mall or movies and see my car with a "custom" key designed pinstripes, I sorta wished I painted it a more subtle color......like blue, O well, what can you do now? Just be nice to everybody and hope nobody tries to be a dick...

Actually, I did pay for it.....the insurance co. sent me to their shop which gave me my appraisal but that shop was all about ripping off the insurance co. so I took it to my own shop with the check and out of my own pocket I had to pay about an extra 300 dollars, BUT, that's for a complete color change, white wheels, taking out ALL dings and dents, new front bumper, partial molding of skirts, projector headlights, and about 2 or 3 other little things, ALL for...u guys ready? under 1400...the guy hooked me up only because he knows that I will bring him more people, if anybody in central florida wants a hook up, let me know, his work is awesome especially the candy's I've seen.

Hey due if it was this wed about 30 cars got broken into, my freind muffler was tryed to cut off, another had is spoiler taken off, another had he car guted and set on fire, and a bunch of stearios and other stuff were taken from cocoa and titville

damn man 1400!!!! I wanna have my ride shipped there and have them paint my car its new color. :-D Thats insane. that is such a good price. I know the paint itself cost well over 600. I mean that damn lil bottle of pearl was $75. plus that orange is expensive to. Man u got hooked up like crazy. I wish I could fing a hook up like that around here. I would have my car in the shop in a quick min.

What has to be known when doing a color change?? Cause when I get my car painted...I want it to be like a Dark Red...What do I have to learn before I do this. I might have a body kit to paint too when I do it.
