i know a couple of you have playstation 2's in your car... where did you guys mount them? any pics? i'm kinda sick of just having mine resting in the back seat, i need a permanent spot. maybe under the glove box??

I have my dreamcast mounted right behind the back seat on that little ledge next to my cd changer. So when I wanna turn it on or off I just turn down the back seat and bingo.

mine is going into my passenger side airbag. i have a fiberglass mold and all i need is the tv. so i'm just waiting right now.

I'm going to remove my passenger airbag and put mine in there. I guess I'll have to let my passengers know incase there is an accident so I don't get sued! Under the seats is a good idea, too.

I took out the passenger air bag and unless you cut some metal. Theres not that much room back there for a PS2. Thats what I was trying to do. I ended up hinging it and mounting my crossovers inside. I was goin to have a shop custom make a fiberglass piece to fit a screen in there but havent got around to it yet. Estimates were like $250 painted. I might try to mount it up under the airbag indise the glove box. Some cutting will be required of course but it should turn out nice.

You will still get sued because it is illegal to take the airbag out of a car, atleast thats what I've been told!

ok, well, my original idea was to mount it under my passenger seat. but it wouldn't fit. the seat scraped the top really bad, and god forbid someone heavy sit in it.. hahaha. crunch! anyway, i got tenzo R racing seats now which look really good, and also sit (at least) an inch higher. i definately have enough clearance now. i think for now, it's gonna have to get mounted under there... any other good ideas though?

I have a freind doin this now. I told him to mount it in his center console. and put the controller ports next to his head unit.

And as long as you let them know first, I can't imagine there being a problem. I don't think it's a law to have airbags because many cars on the street don't have them. Anyone know for sure? I'll call my attorney and ask him.

Well I have mine mounted on the back side of the seat screwed on. So all I have to do is pull down the seat and its there lying on a flat surface waiting for use.

i'm not completely sure but i believe it isn't illegal not to have a passenger side air bag, but it is illegal to remove an air bag. so if it isn't standard then nothing you can do. but it the vehicle was equipped with one you can't take it out. again, not completely sure. just my understanding.

Okay... here's the deal. I spoke with my local DMV and Highway Patrol.

Since this is considered a "Supplimental Restraint" it is not criminally a problem. However, if you are ever selling the car, the purchaser could file a civil suit based on you removing the airbag.

So there ya go. It's legal, just make sure when you sell the car that you get in writing that the new owner is aware of it. Also, check YOUR local DMV and Highway Patrol, too! :)
