Waaazup Guys ! I feel like I've known you for so long but the truth is as you can see this is my first post. I found this forum about 5 months ago (didn't have an Eclipse... at that time) and ever since then I've been reading the forum almost daily (mostly the Interior/Exterior Board). Anyway... after 2 years of hard work I finally got my Ride about 2 months ago ( Black '99 Eclipse GS 10th Anniversary OZ Ed. )
Now, Thanxs to all of you and your personal "tips and tricks" ever since I got the car I've been 'hands on' doing all type of stuff as far as reconditioning it inside out since the guy that had it b4 me didn't take care of it AT ALL ! x(
So... now that you all now my little story I need to ask you guys something... and Yes! I did use the Search Engine but unfortunetly didn't find anything on it. Yesterday I took out my seats and center console apart and right about where the shift stick starts there is an electrical wire that runs a little (I asume it is stock ) yellow light bulb . The thing is that I can't find were it is supposed to go. The center console doesn't have any openning where the bulb could latch on to (or at least I haven't noticed it). It seems a waste of light being there inside the console were there is no apparent use for. You guys have any ideas where it is supposed to go ? Any help would be appreciated !

It sounds like the ash tray light. It fits in the side of the ashtray on the underside of the center console. It's a bitch for me to get mine in so good luck. (You have to push in and turn it 90 degrees for it to stay).

thats what it is. very handy for those midnite roach searches.

congrats on the car bro.. welcome to the team.. and yup.. its the ashtray light.. it is a little bit of a pain to get the light in there, especially for my car, you have to screw it in.. not sure how it is on the 97-99s though. good luck

Hey Team ! Just wanted to Thank You for the support. Yesterday I finally got to dismount everything again and I was able to put the bulb back in place. Althought, I must say that it took me about 20 minutes just to figure out were the damn bulb was supposed to attach since the black plastic headpiece that goes around the bulb and then screws into the center-console was missing.
Then I remembered that the guy that sold me the car had given me a small bag with a bunch of plastic pieces and screws that were loose.
Once I found that black housing piece the force kicked in and I was able to pull everything through.
(And yes! it WAS a b!tch to turn the bulb 90 degress to get it to stay in place!)

So, once again Thanxs !!! I hope to post some pics of my car later on the month when it is more ''presentable''... Right now everything is stock (specially the height!!!! ARrrght ! that's killin' me!) }>

you could have just yanked out the center section with the ash tray and cup holder to put the bulb back in....
