18619, 95-96 grille center piece Posted by EclipzeGamer, Mar-31-02 10:22 AM
Can the piece in the center of the front grille be taken out without weakening the bumper? The one that runs horizontally down the center between the fog lights. I want to put a mesh across right there, but that piece is in the way. tia

ive been working on an idea like that for awhile, i believe that that peice can be removed and it shouldnt effect the bumper. dunno though.

I've had mine taken out for a couple years and it's been coo. I once had some wire mesh painted white and folks thought it was a body kit. ALl you do is take a hacksaw and hack away (watch out for the radiator fins) then take a file and smooth it down...viola instant kit, every 95-96 owner will be in envy of you

i put gutter gaurd in front of it and you can still see the piece in go across, it looks better with it back there.

Hey semperboost, show us a pic of that setup. I have to trim my front bumper cover when i get my turbo here soon(HRC FMIC). And i was thinking of taking that part out. I am curious on how it would look. Thanks...

hitting a Lab-size dog at 85+ on the freeway is another way to remove the grill part...
I don't recommend it though. Taking out someone's pet will make you feel pretty low for a few days.
