clean install... if your car is lowered and you have a lot of bounce, it may skip since the deck wont have a "cushion" behind it.. i have a similiar setup but my player is on the back seat and that kinda cushions it.. i have hit some potholes (sorry rims..) and the discs kept on playing!
anway, good using your brain to get a home player instead of paying an arm and a leg for a in dash unit with not as many features!!
rock on brotha!!

That's a good idea... does it just slide right under there or did you have to take the seat out to get it in?

damn dude thats cool, but I just have one question.... why would you use a full sized DVD player when you could have bought a mini DVD player for pretty cheap and just chucked it in your glove box, or mounted it anywhere without it even being seen.
I'm working on a all in one GPS, DVD, MP3, in one via my laptop which will be stored under my passenger seat and should do everything I want plus be able to be undocked and taken out wherever I go. Now my only problem is mounting an LCD screen, so if you get that done let me know I will need to do this soon myself, and all my video will be sent via composite cable (aka RCA cable), I'm assuming you will be doing the same but let me know, I am always interested in seeing what you guys figure out.

I used to work at Target and got this $250 DVD player for $60. Otherwise, I was going to do what you're talking about.

That sounds cool man, but I bet if you sold your laptop you could buy a G-Net system. It has MP3, MPG, AVI, Integrated Slim DVD Player, 3D Audio Visualizations, GPS Tracking, Wireless Internet & E-mail, True 12V DC Car Computer, Tiny platform (16cm x 15cm x 5cm), Customized Software Interface, Full Blown Windows Platform. Their website is "http://www.gnetcanada.com/". Keith (Lotalon) had one and you can check out his site at "http://www.boostabuse.com".
I still think it would be fairly easy to create your own system. And you can mount LCD screens just about anywhere.
