lol fauch, I'm putting turbo on hold (parents don't want me pushing more then 200 HP at the wheels at the moment) since I just started driving, so I'm getting basic bolt ons and full out exterior interior until my parents approve of a stage 5 (sometime this summer)

Stage 2 and exhaust will be 200HP to the wheels (give or take about 20 - 30 HP) and cost $3500.

Lower it, and get a stage 1. Its not like you have to tell em its gonna be getting 200 hp man :) Just say its gonna get you movin a little bit, not FAST or anyting..hehe..

Posted by soldier101, Mar-28-02 02:51 PM
haha Yeah, I was actually thinking about doing that
18418, RE: WHAT TO GET?!?!?!
Posted by fauchpj, Mar-28-02 02:55 PM
well... how would they know how much hp youre pushing?

go stage one and build from there. Get used to having a turboed car and keep upgrading.

you could lower it, or maybe get a bad ass system w/dvd 'n shit. but definately lower it.

get exhaust. dont waste your money on intake, though.

damn, you could do a lot. what do you really want to do?

my final intentions are a good looking car (like cyan) and a stage 5 kit (which will mean a level ten tranny and torque converter so my little automatic can take the power haha

if your main goal is looks id go with rims and tires and lower it. changes the entire look of the car. plus it will keep your parents happy. then one day when they are not lookin through in a turbo and exhaust!!! if they ask what all that noise is say i dont know, give me another $3500 and ill install some stuff that should help. then imagine the possibilities!! and by then you will have the power to run from them if you piss them off!

Star S1 -$2000
Turbo goodies - $300
Exhaust- $300
Drop it -$200

I'd stay away from a stage 2 cuz I'd go with a sleeper type thing. I hate when people ask assume its a GST and your boosting 20lbs...I always say 'Yea it's a neon motor..god bless america'

Tokicos spring/shock kit $370
17" wheels w/ tires $1000
Ebay cold air intake $70
Ebay muffler $100
Carbon Fiber hood $400
clear corners $30

That 2 grand right there and you will have a badass eclipse

Then save another 500 for turbo or get a custom paint job or bodykit
or badass stereo w/ PS2 and tv's

yeah, if i were you i would get that stuff i listed. If i could start all over on my car thats what i would get. Gives you the best balance between looks, handeling, and speed. Go for it ( and send me a $50 check for being such a helpful guy ;-) )

Dude...dont get a stage 5. From what I have read, there is more tuning involved than driving and you're going to be paying a hella lot of money to get it worked on. If you're going to go turbo, don't waste money on an expensive CAI, or an expensive catback (cuz you'll have to change them out later). Think of things that you won't have to switch out later (like springs and stuff) and get the best there is while you have the money. And if you get a torque convertor, your daily driving is going to suck because you have to rev up the engine every time just to get it going (I think). I say get rims, bodykit, and lower it. You should be set for awhile. And i wish somebody would give me $3500.
