well I was on my way to pick up my car and well, He says he ran out of clearcoat to finish my car, so I am gana have to get it on sunday now. grneclipse, he said he fixed it and made it look better than new, so we will see how it comes out. Oh yeah, $350 is how much it is costing me to get the bumper fixed and the headlight gap fixed, grill, and to fit the Invater type I and cut them down to match the factory skirts. I miss my car!

Shiet!! Only 2 more days for you.....the guy said I can CHECK on my car on Monday but it will still not be done...WTF!! i am getting pissed off now.....but on one hand I dont' want the job to be rushed so it looks like shit but I want it back...it's been 3 and a half weeks and counting on what was supposed to be a week job!!....

Dang that's a long time. It usually takes about 3 weeks to do a complete color change paint job. They should at least let you see your car whenever you want. Good luck.

Hell yeah that's a long time, anyhow, they let me in there whenever I want, BUT I don't want to be breathing down their neck either (I don't want them to think that I'm rushing them, so that they'll do a shitty job) But last I saw this past wednesday, they have ONLY painted the underside of the hood, took off the body kit (front, sides, rears, wing, tails, headlights) sanded down most of the paint, and thas it.....WTF. This is what they still need to do: Take off my wheels and powdercoat them white, do the cutouts on the sideskirts, or course PAINT the whole damn car including jams. I need my damn car by Spring Break next week, shiet.....what do you think 804?

Oh i had no idea you were doing a color change. How can they quote you one week for that? It takes at least 3 weeks to do. They have to sand down your whole car more than once (for the spots they missed).

Also, they haven't painted your engine bay, door jams, or trunk yet. That will take at least a day, since most shops do the insides one day, and then sand the outside, and shoot the outsides. It also takes a lot of time taping up the car. At this point, it seems like it would take more than one week (at least if we were doing it). You have to tape up the exterior of the car to paint the insides, then prep the exterior (sand etc) and tape up the whole car to paint. That's at least a 3 day process for the painting, and you say they still have to powdercoat your wheels, cut out the side skirts etc. If you're really lucky, they'll be done.

BTW, Hondahater, did you only pay 350 for painting and installing the front and side skirts? If so, that's really cheap...

yup, only $350, this guy works out of his grage, he does a ton of custom work. You may have seen it mick, A green corola with a invader type body kit. Well that body kit is from a civic molded on, and he just repainted and molded a bodykit onto his sentra, bright orange is not my color though. But he can do anything with fiberglass, and his cars look damn good to me

Woahh does he spray the paint in his garage too? That's pretty dangerous and illegal too if he does hehe. Is he using PPG paint? He better be careful cus it is highly explosive, which is why you can't smoke within 20 feet of a paint booth by law.

lotta people around here run body shops out of their garages. but out here it's just cut and weld type shit. mostly trucks that need some rust cut out or some thing.
