I've read the install on the main page and I've got some unanswered questions.

1- Where can I get the required relay? If I go to Radio Shack are they gonna have any idea as to what I'm gonna need. Do all relays have wires coming out of them like the one in the How-to on the main page?

2- Do posts 1 and 2 on the switch not need to be attached? I know 1 probably doesn't because you don't need to tap the ignition ON wire twice.

3- Why do the instructions that come with the button suck so much damn C*CK? :)

4- Anyone else have another/better write up?

Aiight, I've searched the net for more info and still can't seem to find exactly what I need. There's about half a million write ups on installing an ACTUAL S2000 button, but it's different and uses a 30A relay instead of 40A. I really need to know what KIND relay I need. I've also noticed that they have like 5 prongs, 1 on each side and 1 in the center and all corresponding to different numbers, that mean something that I don't understand.

I also need to know if any of the wires need to be CUT or if everything is spliced into and left intact.

Also was my button supposed to come with a relay? Whoever wrote the how-to on the main page just mentions wire colors and I doubt that most relays use the same wire colors, in fact I thought that relays only had prongs/pegs.

I wanna do this myself and don't want to pay someone, but will if I have to. I guess I could take a peek at my friend's, he's got a 99 Eclipse with one, pro installed at some shop, in any case, I'd like help from someone here also :P

Well i'm not too familiar with the starter button, but from my experience with remote starters i think i can be of some help. A typical automotive relay is a SPDT(single pole, double throw). The numbers on the backside of it are all the same on every brand of relay, its all standard. Pins # 85 and 86 are the coil of the relay, the part that activates and opens or closes the contacts. One of theese pins needs a pos signal, and the other needs a neg signal to activate. Now, pin #'s 87A and 30 are normally closed(with the realy at a de-energized state, those two pins are electrially connected together. When the relay activates, then the connection is opened between the two. Pin # 87 can be your pos input from the batt, or you power feed of your stock ignition harness. Pin # 30 can be your output to the wire you want to power up with the realy. You will not need to use pin # 87A. So to sum it up
PIN #
85=pos(or neg) trigger input
86=neg(or pos) trigger input
87=Pos input(high current from batt or harness)
30=output to wire being powered up by relay
87A not used
The pins 85 and 86 are low current draw, around 250 milliamps, whichs makes them great for alarms and remote starts since most of their outputs are low current transistors inside the modules to use as triggers to operate pretty much whatever you want. I think the switch you have will have 3 or 4 terminals to activate relays to power up your ingnition harness wires.
