16698, changing gauge color? Posted by EclipzeGamer, Mar-08-02 01:45 PM
I thought I read on the boards that you can sand the color off the back of the instrument gauges, then color the numbers with a magic marker or paint, but I could be nuts. Nothing showed up on a search. Will that work, because I really want to turn them blue without having to solder on resistors or leds (I really suck at soldering) and I'm not too big on the indiglo faces. Thanks for help

it depends on what gauges you are trying to change... the hvac can be changed with just one led.. i doubt that you could get back there to color the gauges, but if you dont want to solder, you could ask hondahater, he did a batch of them for us.. or you could try coloring the bulb (sharpie or light covers).
if you were referring to the speed/tach gauges, then yes, you can color the back... but you need to sand off the stock amber and coloring the backs can be used with several different methods (sharpie, stain glass paint, etc..) im not sure which ones look the best, but diff ppl say they like their own. hope this helps..
also, if you search the archives again, im positive you could find many posts about this topic.. its been brought up many times..
