16571, general questions.. not sure which forum.. so deal haha Posted by evan2, Mar-07-02 05:49 AM
ok have a few questions just wanted to make sure i dont fugg anything up
ok first
the black plastic in front of the radiator that kinda curls up.. do i need that?? is it projecting the radiator in anyway??
i really want to just take it out of there.. i know i know get a grill but i cant right now because when i had my accident it kinda jacked up the hood latch and we had to move it to get the CF hood to fit.. so with the new bumper i have to go through the big opening and push the lil lever up.. once i get new hood and pins i will get rid of the latch and not have to worry..
plus im getting a new front end
also can i polish up the radiator?? just for fun.. for now.. until the FMIC is there.. i ask because sometime i polished some metal but it was magnesium and when it got wet it would rust within days.. (i got it powdercoated silver so it would stop) but i want to make sure theres not some protective coating on it.
i have seen FMICS been polsihed why does my ish rust grrr... its very salty by me too being on the gulf.
3.. the powersteering cooler thats in front of the radiator is has some stuff over it.. im guessing its like a heat protector.. can i take that off and polish up them pipes.. or should i leave it be..
thanks in advance ahah i ask the wierd stuff

Cuite-a plastic radiator?????
Evan-you can cut that plastic peice out. its just to direct air up into the radiator. i cut mine out, but i also have a grill kit. it'll look a little raw without the plastic peice, but if you have to reach thru the big hole to open your hood, you'll live with this

Ya you can get a nice shiny Fluidyne radiator that flows better too. Only place to get it is Road Race Engineering because they custom fit one on my car, and now they modify the inlets etc no the radiators so that it can fit the nonturbo. It's like 390 or something though, but flows and looks way better than stock.
