I want some skirts!!! Im thinking about going w/ some blitz type 2's but Im worried about the fitment probs others have had. How much would I expect to pay to get these fitted if the ones I get have these probs?? I know you can only give a rough estimate based on where you live, but I want them anyway. If I dont get them Ill probably just go with stock sides cuz I dont see too many that I like. Also could you guys post some pics of sides for our cars cuz I cant seem to find too many. TIA

Not more than 125 installed including all the fiberglass modification you would need, assuming you get the type 2's from VIS. I wouldn't get em from anywhere else because other places that copied the VIS mold will not fit as well.

thanks 804. Thats not as bad as I thought it would be. I think ill go that route and get my mirrors and door handles painted at the same time (ill take the door handles out of course, cuz they charge a grip for labor)

hehe taking the door handles out is the easy part. Getting that and the lock back in is a real pain. BTW, what I quoted does not include paint. I figure if you wanted install, and paint, including the mirrors and door handles, you'd pay AT MOST 400 bucks.

how are those skirts held on? do they have the gromets like the stockers or do you have to screw them on? whats wrong with the fit and what modifications do you have to make to them?
how much are they?

You use screws in the fender wells, and also in the door where it opens. The problem with side skirt fitment is that there is such a small gap in the door, that it has to fit in a perfect spot. They fit really tight, and my driver's side skirt also had an area above the scoop where it stuck out too much so it wasn't flush against the car. I had to add bondo to fill in the gap. The skirts usually cost anywhere from 200 to 300 depending on where you get it, quality etc.

If I got stock sideskirts that are in very good condition and had them painted to match my car, would I have problems with the fit like aftermarket sideskirts do? I am thinking of going this route. Would the factory gromets work for installing them on my RS?

I guess thats not bad, but I didnt want to spend that much. I may just go with stock sides and get my mirrors, handles and center tailight painted. If I go with stock sides I can install them myself. I want to eventually get an aftermarket front and wing and I think that will be enough.
