im painting my interior now and i was wondering if the speaker grilles in the door just pop out. i stuck a flathead in there and it felt like it might budge, but it also bent the flathead, so i wasnt sure if i was sposed to do that. any help is appreciated on how to get them out. thanks guys

if you have the larger grills made of metal you will have to take the door panel off and you will find that you will have to carefully bend the small bends out of the grill that hold it in.. if its the plastic ones then i dunno if they come out at all.

shyit, i got the plastic ones so i guess i'll go ghetto-style and just paint them while they're on the door

Lucky you, I have my passenger door's pancel off the car and working on it in my bedroom as I type. Anyways, the speaker grill is made of really hard plastic, an the speaker grill is kept on the same way that entire plastic piece is held to the vinyl door, via a press melted plastic stem, which looks similar to a "nail head"

Anyway, I was thinking of dismantling the speaker grill from the door, but the press melted stems are WAY impossible to reach. I cannot get any leverage on them.

Not worth trying brotha, at least not for me, I'm just going to have the speaker grills and that whole plastic peice sprayed black tommorow.

yeah, the plastic grilles aren't supposed to come off....after a little forcing with the flathead myself, i ended up breaking the melted plastic pieces that hold it on. with the panels off the door, i had to drill the little plastic nubs and put a small screw in it to hold it on the panel...what a pain, but that's what i get for just goin at it without knowin

if you want to make them a different color...try getting creative with some masking tape. you will find with some (a good deal actually) patience, that you can get whichever areas taped off that you want...id say it took me about 45 mins to do each door (just taping) click the link and check out the pic

This isn't exactly on target with the subject but kinda is...ill let you decide. I want to replace the fabric on the doors with new fabric. Now I took the door panels off and i got out all the screws except one. The one I couldn't get off is the one under the dip for grabbing the door on the panel that has the power controls on. How in the heck do i get to that screw ive tried everything. Anyone ever actually replace that peice of fabric. Im gonna put vinyl there instead of the fabric. Please help me =(

yip sure have bro. Probably just take it off and refasten it with some sort of glue. This is only a guess but thats prob what I have to do.

haha nick, my door panel in my room right now too. i ended up just using masking tape and ill touch it up with a brush once everything is finished.

me too. i made a boo boo when painting mine. something fell onto it before it dried so now i have to go and rouch it up.
